In the Northern part of The Danube Delta is the most Nordic subtropical forest from Europe, situated on Letea Sand Bank. One interesting characteristic of the forest is the abundance of climbing plants. Here you can see trees like: White Poplar, Black Poplar, Elm tree, English Oak, Silver Lime, Narrow-leafed Ash and Common Alder. The fauna has over 2000 species of identified insects, sand viper, three species of falcons and the white – tailed eagle. The wild horses that live here are quite spectacular.
