The Anton Pann Memorial House is a monument of urban architecture, built in the middle of the XVIIIth century, with tower and basement (the defining elements of Romanian architecture). This house was the residence of revolutionary Anton Pann (1794-1854) who participated along with other revolutionaries in Zavoi Park (July 29, 1848) at the first singing of the “Awake, Romanian!”. He composed the music for the Andrei Muresanu lyrics, adapting the folk melody of  “From my mother’s womb”.
