Piatra Craiului Massif is situated in Meridional Carpathians, on the west and north – west part of the Rucar Bran passage. Maximum altitude: 2.238 m La Om peak (or Piscul Baciului ). Local flora has more than 1.170 species of plants, of which 180 are protected by law. The most precious one is the superb pink (Dianthus callizonus) of Piatra Craiului. A surprising fact is that here you will find 41 species of mountain orchids.
