Transylvania is a natural bastion, with dense forests, protected by mountains. The region has a gentle nature, a fertile plateau and a multi – ethnic and hardworking population.
As a tourist, with a map and a little attention for the places, you discover that Transylvania looks like a fortress protected by The Carpathian Mountains. Inside this big fortress there are other fortresses and antique churches. Here you find the most well preserved medieval centers in Europe: Brasov (the center of the country), Sibiu (European Capital of Culture in 2007) or Sighisoara (one of the most rare populated citadel – cities in the world). Transylvania is very famous for the legend about Count Dracula.
In the Transylvanian mountains there are treasures left by the Medieval men but natural treasures as well: glacial lakes in The Retezat Mountains, glacier Cave Scarisoara, Piatra Craiului National Park, Orastiei Mountains where are many Dacian settlements and Sambata de Jos with the largest herd of Lipizzaner horses in the country.
