Veterani Cave is located in Cazanelor Reservation, 25 km from Orsova. You can get here only by boat or dinghy.Veterani Cave was the first cave in the world to be scientifically charted. Here were found fossil remains of bear and hyena, fragments of old ceramics, all, thousand years old. The cave used to be a sanctuary of Zamolxis (God of Dacians). The legends say that here was hidden the secret treasure of Queen Maria Terezia.
